Baxter Golf Association

Much like the Baxter Baseball Club of the 1980's and the Baxter Football League of the 1990's, the Baxter Golf Association (BGA) operated as a non-recognized, non-sanctioned association of non-professional athletes. Given the ever-growing pool of golf aficionados in this circle of friends, it seemed only appropriate to grow a new Association in the 21st century.

So, how did this work exactly? Quite loosely. The original purpose of the BGA was, simply put, to make sure we go out on a golf course for 18 holes, at least once a month. It also allowed for more structured group outings and grew into a competitive association.

The BGA suspended play in late 2009 after four glorious years on tour, given the Commissioner’s relocation out of the Washington, D.C. area.  While the monthly competitions are gone, the BGA will reconvene annually for the Hall of Fame Classic, during which time we’ll get the old gang back together and induct new members into the BGA Hall of Fame.

Please direct any questions about the BGA to the Office of the Commissioner, baxtergolf@gmail.com.
